Juliette Sarah Smith joined KMTR as a multimedia journalist in October 2022. She currently anchors the weekend newscast and is an on-air weekday reporter.
Originally from Los Angeles, Juliette began reporting in the newsroom after finishing graduate school at The University of Southern California's Annenberg School of Journalism, where she earned a Master of Arts in Specialized Journalism.
At Annenberg, she was the political news anchor and producer for the student-led newscast Annenberg TV News, where her work was nominated for an LA Press Award.
As a student, Juliette traveled to Washington, D.C., and Virginia to cover politics on the Hill, interviewing now-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and writing about a crucial congressional race with Annenberg Media. She also traveled to Manhattan to cover New York Fashion Week.
She received her undergraduate degree in journalism and art history from the American University in Washington, D.C., where she reported on everything between politics and protests on Capitol Hill.
Juliette is passionate about covering politics, foreign policy, history, social justice, antisemitism, nature, and fashion.
She is always looking to localize national and international news so people are more informed about what's happening beyond their doorsteps and how it might affect them at home.
Juliette is looking forward to learning more about the Pacific Northwest.
