Carmen Rose joined KMTR in June 2018. Prior to Eugene, she was a weekend meteorologist and science/environmental reporter in Columbus, Georgia where she covered everything from tropical storms, hurricanes and microbursts to freezing rain and snow.
She graduated from Michigan State University in May 2015 with a B.S. in Earth Science with a concentration in Meteorology/Atmospheric Science and a B.A. in Journalism with a concentration in Electronic News. Carmen was the co-founder and vice president of the student chapter of the American Meteorological Society at Michigan State University.
Carmen earned her CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist) from the American Meteorological Society. She loves breaking down the science behind weather and answering any questions about our atmosphere.
In her spare time, you can find Carmen playing tennis, hiking or walking her husky/shepherd dog Memphis.
