UPDATE: Oregon State Police identified the woman in Tuesday morning's crash as Barbara J. Kriewitz, 55, and identified the man who struck her as Carl Neill, 39, both from Grants Pass.

Neill was driving the speed limit in a 2011 GMC pickup truck along Hamilton Lane when he came over a hill, saw something in the road and realized it was Kriewitz in the middle of the road. Neill attempted to swerve around Kriewitz but was unable to. OSP say they do not know why Kriewitz was there.

OSP says Kriewitz was wearing dark clothing at the time of the crash and the street has no streetlights. Kriewitz was pronounced dead at the scene.

No criminal charges are anticipated at this time, because Neill is cooperating fully with the investigation.
