Police credit seat belts after cars carrying 7 children collide in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A car ran a stop sign and collided with a van Wednesday, causing the van to overturn, Springfield Police said.

Sgt. George Crolly said the crash at D and 5th streets could have been worse: one car had 3 children in it, the other had 4 children.

But there were no serious injuries reported: Crolly said everyone was wearing seat belts.
