EUGENE, Ore. - A 10-year-old boy on a bicycle collided with a car Monday evening in Eugene, injuring his leg, Eugene Police said.
The 33-year-old driver called 911 immediately and cooperated with investigators, police said.
The crash happened just before 6 p.m. as the driver's VW Jetta crested a hill on Jefferson Street northbound just before W. 25th Avenue, police said.
The driver said that boy came out in front of the car from W. 25th, headed westbound. West 25th has a stop sign at Jefferson, police said.
The impact threw the boy, who came to rest on bark dust and on the curb, police said. He was taken to a local hospital.
His identity and condition were not immediately available.
The road reopened to traffic around 7 p.m.
