Tennessee state senator asking for inquiry into sports programs with Nike ties
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WTVC) - Tennessee state Sen. Bo Watson says he has asked the state's Office of Legislative Budget Analysis to look into which state-financed colleges and universities have Nike contracts.
That's according to a tweet Watson shared Saturday evening.
This comes after the sports apparel giant released an ad featuring former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Kaepernick has drawn criticism for kneeling during the national anthem prior to NFL games to protest police brutality toward minorities in the United States.

More recently, Liberty University in Virginia says the school is debating dropping Nike as an apparel supplier.
