SportsTown Awards celebrate athletics in Lane County

EUGENE, Ore. - The inaugural SportsTown Awards handed out honors Thursday night.

Mayor Kitty Piercy presented the award for sustainable event of the year to the Big O Roller Derby event.

Sky Muller from KVAL News presented the inspirational coach of the year to North Eugene football coach Rick Raish.

Payton Presley of Cottage Grove was honored with male student athlete of the year.

Madison Eusted of Creswell took home female athlete of the year.
