Mariota, Ducks hold off Washington State for 38-31 win in Pullman

PULLMAN, Wash. -- The No. 2 Ducks edged out the Washington State Saturday, making for the eighth consecutive time Oregon has won against the Cougars.

The Ducks took Martin Field in Pullman wearing their new black Mach Speed uniforms.

After a hard-fought first half, Oregon held on to win 38-31.

Quarterback Marcus Mariota was very efficient through the air, connecting on 21 of 25 throws for 329 yards and five touchdowns.

Two of those TD passes went to Devon Allen, who burned the Cougar secondary for 142 yards.

The Ducks rushed for 172 yards on 42 attempts, moving to a 4-0 season record.
