Hillsboro Police are investigating a homicide that took place early Sunday morning. Police say they responded to Kim’s Red Rose Bar in Hillsboro at 12:45 a.m. on the report of a shooting.

Officers say the initial report was that someone had shot a woman and fled in a car. When police arrived, they found a 42-year-old woman had been shot inside the bar.

Detectives from the Hillsboro Police Department and the Washington County Major Crimes Team responded to lead the investigation.

Police say evidence at the scene showed there was a group of at least four people who were asked to leave the bar. One of them shot and killed the woman. Additional shots were fired outside the bar, officials say.

Police want to speak with anyone who was at Kim’s Red Rose during the event. Anyone with tips about the four people who left the bar is asked to contact Hillsboro Police.

Detectives say they believe at least one vehicle in the parking lot was damaged by shots, but likely left before the driver noticed.
