During these overheated days of summer, a lot of work goes into keeping the animals – and visitors cool – at the Oregon Zoo.

But it can be a lot of fun too, as KATU’s Wesleigh Ogle found out.

The Oregon Zoo closed its doors early Wednesday because of the extreme temperatures.

It will do the same Thursday. Gates will close at 3 p.m. and visitors already inside will have until 4 p.m.
