Sheriff: Eugene man arrested for theft in Coquille
COQUILLE, Ore. -- A Eugene man was arrested Sunday in Coquille for first-degree theft, Coos county Sheriff's Office said.
Sunday evening, deputies responded to a residence on Highway 42S in to take a theft report.
While en route, deputies learned the owner of the property had locked his gate to keep the suspect on the property until authorities arrived.
Police say 66-year-old Frank W. Rossi had dropped a female off at the property and, while awaiting her return, attempted to steal a tractor radiator and scrap metal.
Rossi consented to a vehicle search and stolen property was located, the report said.
He was placed under arrest without issue and transported to Coos County Jail charged with first degree theft, a Class C felony.
Rossi’s bail was set at $25,000.
