Police: Roseburg man arrested on charges involving online relationship with minor under 14
SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- A Roseburg man was arrested by Sutherlin authorities for online abuse-related charges.
Around 3:30 a.m. Friday, 33-year-old Bobbyray Louis Reams of Roseburg was arrested on several charges "involving his online relationship with a minor under the age of 14," Sutherlin Police Department said in a news release.
Reams was lodged at the Douglas County Jail and charged with Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the First Degree, Possession of Materials Depicting Sexually Explicit Conduct of a Child in the First Degree, and Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct.
"Due to the nature and sensitivity of the crimes committed, to protect victims and families, and due to the ongoing investigation, the Sutherlin Police Department is unable to release how the information of Reams’ crimes were committed," SPD said "Parents are strongly encouraged to monitor their children’s use of smart phones, tablets, and other devices used to access the internet and social media apps."
