Police: Officers use Taser to capture man who fired handgun outside Coos Bay bar
COOS BAY, Ore. - A man who fired a handgun outside a bar late Saturday night had to be shocked with a Taser by officers, the Coos Bay Police Department said.
Michael A. Stone, 39, faces charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Menacing with a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Resisting Arrest, and Interfering with Peace Officer.
Officers responded at 11:45 p.m. to a report of shots fired at the Coney Station bar downtown.
The suspect, later identified as Stone, left the scene before officers arrived, police said.
Investigators determined Stone fire the gun just outside the bar; no one was injured, and no property was damaged, police said.
Officers caught up with Stone about 2 blocks away, police said.
"Stone was initially not cooperative and tased by officers, but ultimately taken into custody," police said in a report.
