Missing Douglas County man found cold, wet, but 'in good condition'

A man from Glide was reported missing on Sunday, after being separated from his hiking group near the Susan Creek Falls area.

GLIDE, Ore. -- A Glide man reported missing Sunday after he separated from a hiking group has been found and is in good condition, Douglas County Search and Rescue says.

Officials confirmed 32-year-old Gene Girard Eubank was found cold and wet, and showing beginning signs of hypothermia.

Douglas County Search and Rescue got the call at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday and he was located just off the Susan Creek Falls parking lot.

Glide Fire was first to respond and Eubank was placed in one of their cars right away for warmth.

Eubank was taken to the VA Roseburg hospital for treatment. Deputy Melvin said he’s in good condition.

His sister also confirmed he was found and said he’s “wet and hungry.”
