Coos Bay to close portion of Commercial & 8th during hospital demolition April 16-21
COOS BAY, Ore. -- The City of Coos Bay has authorized the contractor Munitor Construction, who is demolishing the old McAuley Hospital, to temporarily close Commercial Avenue and 8th Street which abuts the property.
The purpose of both road closures is to protect pedestrians and the motoring public while the structure is being demolished, officials said.
Once the building is reduced to rubble and access is safe, road closures will be lifted.
Road closure will be from April 16-21. However, Commercial Avenue could be back open sooner depending on demolition progress.
