A man found himself behind bars after accidentally leaving behind his jail release papers while burglarizing an Oklahoma City business owned by a police detective.

On Aug. 15, an Oklahoma City Police Department detective noticed his side business in the 100 block of SW 10 Street where he restores vehicles had been burglarized. While looking through the business to determine what had been stolen, the detective discovered Oklahoma County Jail release paperwork for 21-year-old Jacob Villescaz.

The detective called the jail and discovered that Villescaz had been released from their custody at 12:30 a.m. Aug. 15. Villescaz had reportedly broken into the shop through a window and stole a radiator, a spray gun, tool boxes and saw.
