Driver crashes into building in Southwest Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police officers and firefighter are responding to a vehicle into a building in Southwest Portland Wednesday morning.

The crash was reported in the 1800 block of Southwest Jefferson Street at 10:17 a.m.

A driver crashed through a building and fell to a lower floor, Portland Fire and Rescue said.

The driver was taken to the hospital; no word on their current condition.

Initial reports state that the driver hit the wrong pedal and sent their car through a wall. At this point police have not issued any citations for the crash.

People are asked to avoid the area if possible.
