Deputies say man charged after shooting neighbor over mowing the grass
WHEELERSBURG, Ohio (WCHS/WVAH) —
The Scioto County Sheriff's Office said a man is facing charges after shooting his neighbor following an argument about mowing grass.
Colin Knappenberger, 76, of Wheelersburg was charged with felonious assault, according to a news release from the sheriff's department.
Deputies said the shooting happened about 2:50 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Collingwood Avenue in Wheelersburg. Deputies said a man was shot in the leg. He was taken to Southern Ohio Medical Center and later to Grant Medical Center where he was treated and released.
Deputies determined the victim was mowing his lawn and his neighbor, Knappenberger, thought some rocks went into his yard. The two got into an argument, deputies said.
Knappenberger was taken to the Scioto County Jail and was later released after posting a $20,000 bond.
