COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- It's hard to forget 16-year-old girl Devray Williams during the Ohio State Fair tragedy. Williams was extremely emotional and in complete shock as she shared what happened.

"I thought I was going to die," said Williams, who was on the Fire Ball when it malfunctioned.

Five months later, Williams is still trying to cope with what she saw. It's a tragedy she just can't forget. She said she saw people falling off of the Fire Ball and thought she'd fall too. One person died, seven others were injured.

Williams said she fainted as she tried to walk home with her family that day.

"I remember waking up in the ambulance and he said 'you okay? Are you okay?'" said Williams.

Since that day, Williams said her mom moved the family into a new home because they lived so close to the fairgrounds. Williams has been trying to heal emotionally, one day at a time.

"I know how I am at school, it overwhelms me and I get anxiety attacks and have to go to my counselor," said Williams.

It's been hard for Williams to sleep at night. Williams said she has lots of nightmares.

"I just won't be able to go to sleep and then I'll cry the whole night," said Williams.

Things are slowly getting better for Williams. She said her school counselor and sister help a lot.

"She is there with me. This is the one who helped me through everything, who I can always talk to," said Williams.

There is one thing Williams stopped doing that she loves the most, posting makeup videos on YouTube. Williams has all kinds of makeup boxes that stay closed. She opened one Friday and said it made her feel better.

Williams said she was supposed to go on a trip for her birthday on New Year's Eve weekend, but cancelled it because it's hard for her to be around large crowds. Williams said she is focused on school and progress as the New Year approaches.
