'Flomo Klown' pranksters taken into custody


UPDATE: One arrest has been made by the Flomaton Police Department. Makayla Smith was allegedly involved in the 'Flomo Klown' scare.

The District Attorney’s office was contacted along with the FBI and other numerous Law Enforcement entities across the state of Alabama and the state of Florida.

The Flomaton Police Department and the Escambia Co. Sheriff’s Office worked all night on the case.

After the investigation it was found that two juveniles and one adult were found to be involved with the incident. But none of the suspects were attending or affiliated with the schools.

The kids remain under their parent's custody and will be turned over to the authorities at a later time once official charges are filed, which will be soon. The Flomation Police Department and the Escambia County Sheriff's office will release the demographics and official charges after the District Attorney determines what they will be.

The Flomaton Police Department took a moment to address why they initiated a lockdown and to address frustration and fears.

Escambia County Sheriff's Department in Alabama told Jackalyn Kovac arrest warrants have been issued for one adult. He added warrants are being obtained for three juveniles related to the "Flomo Klown" Facebook page and threats. Two juveniles are from Flomaton and one from Pensacola.

Chief Deputy Lambert said they will be charged with making a terroristic threat which is a felony.

Channel 3 News also spoke to Pensacola Police Department and the Escambia Sheriff’s Department. Both told Reporter Jackalyn Kovac they had no confirmed sightings.

The creepy clown story started in South Carolina and has hit Georgia, West Virginia, Alabama and Florida.
