Winter weather grips higher elevations of Western Oregon
EUGENE, Ore. - Forecasters issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow Sunday for much of Western Oregon, in effect through 7 p.m.
Two to 5 inches of snow is expected down to 1,200 feet.
"Roads will be snow covered and slick at times," the National Weather Service cautioned.
Further south, forecasters in Medford predicted 5 to 10 inches of snow for the Cascade foothills of eastern Douglas County.
"Travel will be impacted on high mountain passes and the lower passes on Interstate 5," forecasters said in a Winter Storm Warning in effect until 4 a.m. Monday. "Occasional heavy snow showers this afternoon and evening could quickly cover roadways and may bring slushy accumulations to some valley floors."
