Western Oregon man gets 30 years for killing girlfriend

Cheryl Elizabeth Hart was last seen alive August 4, 2016, in Eugene with her boyfriend, Jeremy Milutin. The two had dated on-and-off since they were teens, her family said. Her body was later found in Klamath County. Milutin agreed to serve 30 years in prison in a plea negotiation with prosecutors.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A western Oregon man who killed his girlfriend has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

The Register-Guard reports that 38-year-old Jeremy Milutin of St. Helens received the sentence Friday in Lane County Circuit Court.

Milutin last month pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the August 2016 death of 35-year-old Cheryl Elizabeth Hart. She lived in St. Helens but was killed in Eugene.

Her remains were found in a wooded area of Klamath County about a month after she was reported missing.
