Toy drive donations accepted at Springfield Christmas Parade this Saturday

Bring an unwrapped toy to donate to the toy drive! Our float will have elves ready to help accept your donations.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - The Springfield Christmas Parade is a go for 2017. Organizers scrambled to save the event after a lack of participation initially forced its cancellation.

The "oldest and coldest" Christmas parade is now in its 65th year.

You can mark the occasion by bringing an unwrapped toy to donate to the Les Schwab Toy Drive. The NBC 16 KMTR entry in the parade will include people ready to take your donations for the toy drive.

Santa Claus will also be there, along with decorated cars, horses and floats

The day begins with the Annual Tuba Carol Concert at Two Rivers/Dos Rios Elementary School at 10th and G Streets.

The parade kicks off at 1 p.m.
