Time to hit the slopes! Timberline Ski Area opens full-time
GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. – Skiers and snowboarders, grab your gear. Timberline Ski Area officially opens full-time Friday.
Upper mountain lifts will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with lower lifts staying open an hour later.
Winter driving conditions are in effect on the mountain.
Drivers should use traction tires or bring chains if they head to the slopes.
The snow pack is pretty hard, and there are still some spots that don't have much cover. There's only one run operating for now.
It was better earlier in the morning. It's foggy now, harder to see so you have to slow down a little bit and watch out for other people. Other than that it's all good."
Ski Bowl at Government Camp and Mount Hood Meadows aren't open yet, but they hope to be operating by Thanksgiving. Meadows will be hosting a "Pray for Snow" party this weekend.
