Tensions run high as BIPOC rally is met with large counter-protest in Eugene

UPDATE: Multiple arrests made at riot in Eugene on Saturday night

EUGENE, Ore. — UPDATE: According to our reporter, the larger crowd has dispersed, and a bunch of people seem to be leaving.

A BIPOC Black Lives Matter rally that was being held at the Federal Courthouse in Eugene on Saturday night has been met with a large counterprotest, according to a reporter on the scene.

A witness to the situation says that tensions are high, and several people are armed. There have been a few fistfights already, according to our reporter.

Our reporter on the ground described the scene bordering as a riot, and claims that someone just shot a handgun into the air in order to get others to back away from him.
