Sheriff IDs man found dead in field near Junction City

JUNCTION CITY, Ore. - The sheriff's office has identified the man found dead in a field near town last month.

The body found off Milliron Road July 31 was identified as Jimmy Soliday, 26, of Junction City, according to the Lane County Sheriff's Office.

"The investigation is ongoing, but there are no indicators of foul play," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "Cause and manner of death will be determined by the Lane County Medical Examiner’s Office."

The body was found by an employee doing work in the field. At the time, the sheriff's office said the body had been in the field "for a substantial period of time."

The sheriff also said at the time "there is no indication that the deceased is the victim of violence."

Investigators worked with the State Forensic Anthropologist to identify the body.
