EUGENE, Ore. -- Seventeen candidates have filed to run for governor this year, based on records through the Secretary of State's office.

The majority of them have little or no political experience.

Governor Kate Brown and State Representative Knute Buehler are the well-known candidates.

The others include a contractor, a farmer, a computer programmer, realtors, and the list goes on and on.

"I believe in running for office I believe in knowing your issues and I believe in everybody getting involved and getting their voice out there and speaking up so that's what I'm doing," Candace Neville, a candidate from Eugene said.
