Police: Unauthorized check lands Dollar in jail
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg man was arrested Wednesday following a fraud incident where he tried to deposit an unauthorized check, police said.
According to a Roseburg Police Department report, surveillance footage at Fred Meyer showed 40-year-old Jeremy Dollar illegally depositing a man's check.
The 67-year-old victim had reported an unauthorized check being deposited at the store.
The check was electronically stamped with Dollar's Oregon driver's license on it, which he gave when he deposited the check, the report said.
Dollar was later found and taken into custody.
He's charged with second degree forgery, second degree possession of a forged instrument, and second degree theft.
Dollar was lodged at the county corrections facility.
