Police: Man with hammer kidnapped, sexually assaulted woman on streets of Eugene
EUGENE, Ore. - A man used a hammer to threaten and kidnap a 19-year-old woman he then sexually assaulted on Valentine's Day, Eugene Police said Friday.
Police made a public appeal for tips in the case.

The suspect walked up alongside the woman and started talking to her, police said.
"She didn’t wish to speak with him and tried to walk faster, but he continued to try and engage her, eventually producing a hammer that he used to threaten her with," police said in a statement. "He grabbed her and forced her to another location against her will, where he sexually abused her."
The suspect ran from the scene, and the victim called 911. Officers and K9 searched the area, to no avail.
The suspect is a white male in his mid-20s, about 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds.
