VANCOUVER, Wash. – A driver crashed into a Vancouver bank early Wednesday morning.

According to Clark County Dispatch, the crash occurred at the Umpqua Bank at 10705 NE Fourth Plain Blvd. at 1 a.m.

Vancouver Police say there was a pursuit before the crash. Officers noticed a car driving without its lights on and they began following it.

The driver sped away from the patrol car, still without its lights on.

Police pursued the car, but the driver sped through several red lights, so they stopped following it for safety reasons.

Minutes later, several people called 911 reporting a car had crashed into a bank.

The driver took out a decorative pillar and smashed in the front window of the business.

Police found a teenage boy nearby and believe he is connected to the incident.
