EUGENE, Ore. — The ongoing construction and lane closures on I-105 in between the Coburg Road exit and West 6th Avenue has caused an increase in traffic.

Police have received multiple complaints from people regarding unsafe driving behaviors in the area due to the congestion and construction.

The traffic enforcement unit will conduct a safety enforcement effort on this section of I-105 throughout next week with a focus on dangerous driving behavior, which includes illegal lane changes in addition to standard traffic violations that contribute to a high frequency of crashes.

The Eugene Police are reminding travelers to expect delays when traveling on this stretch of roadway, and to give yourself plenty of time when driving to your destination.
