Police arrested a 21-year-old man Wednesday, accusing him of driving onto a sidewalk in Northeast Portland earlier this month and striking at least two people.

Home surveillance cameras near Wilkes Park captured the event as it unfolded on Thursday, Jan. 10, showing the driver accelerate toward three people and onto the sidewalk. The driver then appeared to pursue the group.

The video captures one man being hit by the front of the truck and sideswiping another man.

Police said authorities in Clackamas County arrested the suspect, Austin C. Keever-Nyberg, when he showed up at the Clackamas County courthouse for an unrelated matter.

Portland police said the Toyota Tacoma truck that Keever-Nyberg was driving that day was found Friday, Jan. 18 and seized as evidence.

No one directly involved in the incident has yet contacted police. Police only started investigating when they were made aware of the incident and that it was posted on social media.

"Thank you to the individuals who brought this incident to our attention and assisted investigators," Chief Danielle Outlaw said in a news release. "Our community members are an important partner in identifying and solving crimes to keep our community safe. Thank you also to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office for assisting with the arrest of the suspect involved."

Keever-Nyberg was taken to the Multnomah County Jail, where he faces charges of first-degree attempted assault.
