Police arrest Springfield man following child sex abuse investigation
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- A Springfield man was arrested after police investigated reported child sexual abuse.
On Tuesday, September 18, Springfield Police responded to a report of a sexual abuse of a child under the age of 5.
Detectives conducted an investigation including a forensic interview of the child, leading to the arrest of 28-year-old Alejandro Hernandez-Plascencia of Springfield.
He was lodged at the Lane County Jail and charged with first degree sex abuse and two counts of first degree sodomy.
The victim in this case was known to the suspect but not related, police reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
