MERLIN, Ore. — A man shot and killed his ex-girlfriend before taking his own life Wednesday, Oregon State Police said.
Police have not yet identified the deceased.
Troopers responded to Merlin, Oregon, around 11 p.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance, police said.
When they arrived, the found a woman dead from a gunshot wound in the driver's seat of a passenger van.
Troopers located a man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound about a mile away.
"The investigation has determined that the male had confronted the female, killing her and then took his own life," state police said in a statement.
Oregon State Police Sgt. Jeff Proulx told KTVL that law enforcement have responded to the area before, but no previous calls stood out to investigators.
