CORVALLIS, Ore. - There has been some time for the dust to settle, but Oregon State University is still reeling after Monday's announcement that head football coach Gary Andersen is leaving the program.

The Beavers got back to the practice field on Tuesday a day after the shocking news that their coach and the program agreed to mutually part ways, leaving interim head coach Cory Hall to lead his first official practice.

Hall said the team is responding well after Andersen's departure, and that as the new head coach, he has already called Andersen asking for advice.

"What do I do? Had a great conversation with him at length, and again, I'll have more questions and there are still a lot of things that are yet before me that I'm going to have a lot of questions about," said Hall. "He's a great mentor. That's one thing again, I'll never say anything different. He's a great mentor, he's a great leader and he's missed."

Hall said that Tuesday's practice started on a high not and finished on a high note.
