EUGENE, Ore. -- A brand new St. Vincent de Paul thrift store is open for business in west Eugene, marking the 16th location in Oregon.
A ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday morning offered grand opening door prizes, treats, and balloons for children.
The brand-new store is located at the old Office Depot location at 2167 W. 11th Avenue and offers a large selection of furniture, home supplies and more, along with 50 percent off clothes and books up until Monday.
There’s also a $500 gift card giveaway being announced Tuesday.
“Any chance we get to open up a new store is a great opportunity for us,” said Dave Tussing, safety officer at St. Vincent de Paul. “The price of our clothing and essential needs is kind of escalating a little bit, so it’s nice to offer a really good product slightly used at an affordable price.”
They are also accepting donations.
The store is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
They are in need of employees. To apply for a position, visit www.svdp.us or stop by their offices on Chad Drive in Eugene.
