Motorcycle accident closes down I-5 on-ramp near Hwy 126 for more than two hours
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A single-vehicle accident closed down the on-ramp to NB I-5, coming from Hwy 126 East on Sunday afternoon, when a motorcycle lost control and hit the guard rail.
Springfield Police and Fire Departments responded to the accident at approximately 4:24 p.m., and the ramp was closed for more than two hours.
The driver was transported by ambulance to Riverbend Hospital, where he is being treated for internal injuries and a compound fracture in his leg.
The crash is being investigated by the Department's Major Accident Investigation Team. Both alcohol and speed are being investigated as possible contributing factors in the crash.
