Les Schwab Toy Drive in final push for donations before holidays
EUGENE, Ore. - The Salvation Army stopped by this afternoon to pick up its first round of toys for local children on Monday.
The donations came from people in the Eugene/Springfield community, and the organization says all the toy and gift donations will stay in the local area.
For some of the toys, you can even personalize them.
"A mother asked for a Build-A-Bear for her daughter, and luckily somebody picked up a tag off one of the Les Schwab trees and brought it into the Salvation Army," said John Tumey, Lane County Coordinator for the Salvation Army. "So that girl will get what she asked for this year."
Tumey says they're also accepting gift cards this year.
You have until Friday to drop off toys, books, or gift cards at Les Schwab Tire Centers in Lane, Coos or Douglas Counties, and the toys will be distributed to children in need by the Brattain House and Relief Nursery.
