Hoodoo hopes to open to skiers Friday

SISTERS, Ore. – Hoodoo Ski Area plans to open Friday, buoyed by a National Weather Service forecast calling for 14 to 24 inches of snowfall Tuesday and Wednesday.

"Assuming optimal conditions, the lifts will run from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., with a possibility for night skiing on a portion of the mountain from 3:30-9 p.m.," the ski area said in a statement Tuesday.

Hoodoo will operate on its Winter Break schedule, with lifts running 9 a.m - 9 p.m. Dec. 23, 26-31 and Jan. 1-6, if snow conditions allow.

Lifts will run 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Christmas and Sundays.

On New Year's Eve, lifts will run from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. The bar and restaurant will be open until midnight with live music by Leroy & The Sidekicks starting at 6 p.m. Fireworks begin around 9 p.m.
