Have you seen Patrick Stapp? Florence man missing; may have been involved in car crash
FLORENCE, Ore. - Have you seen Patrick Stapp?
The Lane County Sheriff's Office says the 58-year-old Florence man is missing - and may have been involved in a car crash.
Investigators believe Stapp may have been involved in a car crash on November 30 near Sutton Lake Road, the same day he had plans to meet a friend for dinner and never showed up.
Deputies found a 1991 Toyota Camry was found off the road and down an embankment on Sutton Lake Road.
"The vehicle, which was not occupied when it was located, had white hair on the interior that appeared to be animal hair. Paperwork found in the vehicle indicated the driver may have been Patrick Stapp," according to the sheriff's office.
"While searching the area for the driver of the vehicle, the responding deputy spotted a man, possibly Stapp, in the distance with a white dog. The man quickly walked off the roadway and over the edge of an embankment down through some brush," the sheriff's office said. "The deputy saw the man walking near the water at the bottom of the embankment before he lost sight of him. The deputy searched the area and used the loudspeaker to call out for the man but was unable to locate him."
Stapp's dog has since been located.
Stapp is 6-feet tall and 165 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He wears a short mustache and beard.
Anyone who has seen Stapp or knows where he might be is asked to call (541) 682-4141.
