Governor Brown signs Transportation Bill
EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon Governor Kate Brown was in Eugene on Tuesday for her statewide tour to sign the Transportation Funding Bill.
The bill includes $5.3 billion over the next 10 years for roads, transit and other infrastructure.
About $8 million are headed to Lane County, which includes money for improvements on Highway 126 and for the Lane Transit District.
"What you're looking at is the largest, most comprehensive transportation package that's ever been passed by the state of Oregon," said Oregon Senator Lee Beyer.
Another component of the bill is electric vehicle rebates, where drivers who purchase an electric car could get up to $2,500.
