Firefighters work to free person trapped in wreckage of car on Hwy 99 north of Eugene

A two-car crash on Highway 99 north of Eugene sent one person to the hospital and left another trapped in an overturned car, Oregon State Police said. (ODOT)

EUGENE, Ore. - A two-car crash on Highway 99 north of Eugene left a man trapped upsidedown in an overturned car, Oregon State Police said.

The cause of the crash and the identities of the people involved are not yet known. A photojournalist at the scene said at least two people were transported to the hospital.

The crash was blocking the highway and shoulder as of 4:21 p.m., according to the Oregon DOT.
