Two hospitalized after driver enters construction zone in Sherwood
SHERWOOD, Ore. – Police say a driver ignored a flagger and several road signs warning him of a construction zone before hitting two workers in Sherwood Thursday morning.
The crash was reported around 10 a.m. at Southwest Elwert Road and Southwest Edy Road.
The driver was not injured and is cooperating with police. The two construction workers were taken to a hospital via an ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
The crew was working on a road near a trench that is about 8 to 10 feet deep. There's no word on how fast the man who struck them was driving. The speed limit is 45 mph in the area.
