A helicopter was making bucket drops on the Boxcar Fire Thursday as firefighters who can rappel from helicopters responded to the scene.

Central Oregon Interagency Fire says a management team has been assigned to fire. The blaze is believed to have been started by lightning.

"Fire could threaten Maupin," fire officials said on Twitter.

Fire bosses have assigned numerous engines, one heavy air tanker, a 20-person crew, 3 helicopters and 4 Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATs) to contain the blaze.
