Eugene Police identify victims in Wednesday shooting

"When we got here what we found was an unusual situation that feels like a neighborhood situation that went really, really bad," Police Chief Chris Skinner said. "We have three victims right now with gunshot wounds that have been transported to area hospitals. Have no idea to the extent of their injuries whether they are life-threatening or not, and we have one shooter that is deceased from what looks like a self-inflicted gunshot wound."

EUGENE, Ore. -- The Eugene Police Department has released the names of the victims in Wednesday's shooting in north Eugene.

The victims have been identified as:

  • Rosalina Gonzalez (No middle name), age 70
  • Jorge Gabriel Gonzalez, age 44
  • Carlos David Gonzalez, age 27

The suspect was identified Thursday as 66-year-old Carlos Alberto Angelo, police said.

The shooting occurred outside of residences in the 1900 block of Anthony Way.

"The shooting occurred during a dispute between neighbors," Eugene Police said in a statement.

"What we found was an unusual situation that feels like a neighborhood situation that went really, really bad," Police Chief Chris Skinner said Wednesday. "We have three victims right now with gunshot wounds that have been transported to area hospitals. Have no idea to the extent of their injuries whether they are life-threatening or not, and we have one shooter that is deceased from what looks like a self-inflicted gunshot wound."

Neighbors told reporters Thursday that they suspect the dispute was over fall leaves and a leaf blower.
