EUGENE, Ore. – For the Oregon Ducks, the weekend usually means football. But winter is on the way and that means basketball is returning to Matthew Knight Arena Friday night.

The Ducks tip off the start of the most anticipated basketball season in Oregon history against Army at 8 p.m.

According to University of Oregon Athletic Department officials, they expect the largest crowd for a home opener yet. It would need to break the previous record set at MacArthur Court in the 1970s where there were an estimated 10,063 people in attendance.

Friday night, the Ducks expect an even larger crowd.

“It's good. We're happy. We need the fans. They've been helping us. Been helping us for the streak we're having. So the atmosphere is going to be great. It's going to be loud in here. And can't wait to get it going on Friday,” said Tyler Dorsey, a Ducks sophomore guard.

Fans will get to see the Ducks wear digital camouflage jerseys as an homage to all veterans on Veterans Day.
