COOS BAY, Ore. - A disaster relief drive is being organized to help those people affected by the Cheteco Bar Fire.

The "Southwestern Oregon Community College Vet Club" and "Operation Rebuild Hope" in Coos Bay are hosting, and it will be on Monday, September 11, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

They are looking for anything that will help, including sleeping bags and blankets for the victims.

You can drop off items on Monday by the SWOCC Bookstore in Parking Lot 1. The organizers will deliver them to the Chetco Fire Shelter in Gold Beach on Wednesday.

"We see the smoke here in Coos Bay everyday," said Patrick Wright of Operation Rebuild Hope. "I know that might be an annoyance for some people, so you imagine how much worse it is down there. Bringing them some kind of comfort, maybe clothes, or maybe some kids toys or stuffed animals - stuff like that - it's going to make a huge impact in their life."
