City of Coburg brings back Golden Years Festival for 50th year
COBURG, Ore. - After a two-year hiatus, the Coburg Golden Years Festival returns for its 50th year this weekend.
The two-day event features local vendors, booths and an assortment of food trucks, live music and dancing. Veterans will be leading the parade, and organizers say that proceeds will go right back into the community.
"We're a booming little community," said Joe Morneau, the director of the event. "We have lots of new businesses, we have a lot of new residents coming in, I think we have 90 plus businesses now in a small little town of 1,100 or 1,200 people."
The free event will run until 8 p.m. this evening, and will start again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. The parade gets underway on Saturday at 11 a.m.
