Car crash overturns vehicle in Springfield on residential road

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Police said a car crash that overturned a vehicle could have been a lot worse.

Officers responded to a car crash in Springfield at the intersection of C Street and 8th.

Officer said a red van had the right of way when it crashed into the Jeep Cherokee, flipping it over.

Police said two people were briefly stuck inside the overturned Cherokee.

One person was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend with minor injuries.

Police said drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.

Officers said the driver of the Jeep Cherokee has been cited for failing to yield.
