BLM sells over 3 million board feet of timber to Dillard company
COOS BAY, Ore. -- The Coos Bay District of the Bureau of Land Management sold just over three million board feet of timber from Coos Bay Wagon Road on Friday.
The timber was sold at an oral auction to Scott Timber Company of Dillard for over $806,000.
That money goes back to Coos and Douglas counties.
"The funding is unique in that it's not a line item; they can use if for community services, for law enforcement, libraries, other things that they need in the county," said BLM public affairs specialist Megan Harper.
Harper says the BLM is about halfway through this years' timber sales.
